Our Philosophy

Since its inception Millar & Smith Immigration Attorneys, LLC has been dedicated to the idea of cross-border facilitation. With tens of thousands of Canadians applying for visas and permanent residence each year, the United States and Canadian border represents much more than an imaginary boundary between two nations.

In many ways, since September 11th, the U.S./Canadian border has become the country's last line of defense. As a result it has become more rigid for both immigrants and travelers meaning that a refusal of entry at the border may affect immigration benefits sought by Canadian citizens.

With this in mind, M & S became one of the few U.S. law firms to focus significant energy on helping Canadians. Although M & S has offices in both Bellingham and Seattle, the Vancouver branch was exclusively opened to assist Canadians with their U.S. immigration needs.
